Setting Up a "Freebies for Fans" Tab on FB

Let me preface this post by saying that I am not a technology whisperer.  The extent of this tutorial is seriously the extent of my knowledge on the topic.  If you email me requesting additional help or personalized troubleshooting, I will more than likely point you to GeekSquad... or just not answer.   Not trying to be a bish... just honest... and I don't have time to put on my tech support hat.   I learned all this using good ole' Google, research skills, and patience.

Ok, let's get started.

A LOT of you have been asking how I set up my Freebies for Fans tab on the Facebook page.

Lemme tell ya.  It was a good combo of magic, angry eyebrows, and wine.  I've had this thing up for a while now and I believe it was when the fangate thing was starting to take off.  There weren't a lot of tutorials out there, so I had to play around and learn a lot myself.

I realize there are other ways of doing this, but here are the steps I took:

Step 1:  Install Woobox HTML Fangate on your Facebook page.
I don't normally talk like I've just downed a giant bag of Pixie-Stix.  I have a 5 minute limit.

Step 2:  Customize your tab and add content.
Please note that I made this video first, and refer to "not showing you how to install it."  Then I made the first video because I couldn't find the one I originally used.  Don't be confused.  I just did it in the most backwards way possible.
Clear as mud?

Step 3: Some crying, swearing, angry eyebrows, and/or wine consumption may be necessary.  Possibly a combo of all 4.
You'll eventually get it to work and figure out the right settings for your page.  It takes some patience and time just playing around with settings.

Step 4: Post awesome freebies or other fun stuff for those sweet fans.  I use MediaFire for linking up files.  You can also use Dropbox, GoogleDrive, and other filesharing sites.

Ok, I hope you learned a little something today.  I know there are probably some tutorials already out there, but this is the way I set mine up.  Hope I covered all of the questions that you guys sent me recently.  Again, this is the extent of my knowledge on it.  I'm sure there's a "tech whisperer" out there somewhere who can give you more details, but I'm not it.  :)

Today for Technology Tuesday, I'd like to share a goldmine with you.

100 Best Video SItes for Educators by Edudemic

Oh goodness.  This is such a great resource.  I try to show quick little clips or videos as often as I can, so I will definitely be referring to this list often. Videos work especially well with EFL students because not only do they support my visual and audio learners, they get a chance to hear another English speaker besides me.  Haha.

This is a short post today, but the content is really in the link.  Have fun browsing through it!  :)
