I am SOOO excited about today's technology find.  How have I never heard of this app before!?  If you're a teacher and you have an iPad or tablet, then you're going to want to learn about this.  Coolest thing I've seen in a while...

Introducing Screen Chomp by TechSmith.  Here's a quick "what & why" video:
This next video is even better and it shows you more of the "how to" parts:
And now for my video.  Please excuse the lack of action on the screen.  It is so cool that I talked about it more and didn't really plan anything out... just practice!  I pressed record, did my thing, pressed stop, the app got it ready, I emailed it to myself, downloaded it, then uploaded it on here.  You could also just post it on Facebook, Tweet it, or email it to students, but this is just my practice one.  :)  Seriously, it's super easy and the possibilities are endless!  Can you imagine being able to send a little video lesson to a struggling student?!  Or create a little bank of videos on your class website?  Instant practice, learning, reinforcement, enrichment, fun, etc.

Warning:  The video below works.  I don't do anything on the screen until it goes for a bit.  I describe what my screen looks like and then actually do something at 1:06.  Sorry if you think it's broken.  Haha!
So... how about it?  Do you love it!?  I know I will definitely be using it all the time.  I'm obsessed now.

If you want to download it, then just visit the app store and search for "Screen Chomp."  You can also just go to the TechSmith website and snag it.  It's free!

Have fun with it!

Hi Ashley,
What a great blog! I downloaded one of your free items some time ago, and just now went back to check it out (I tend to download a bunch of stuff at one time, get distracted, forget what I downloaded, and then "refind" it. I am going to follow your blog, and I would love for you to check out mine.
Take care and have a wonderful holiday!

This is amazing! Thanks so much for sharing this. Our school district uses edmodo to communicate and this will work perfectly with it.

Ooh, that looks cool. I just started a blog for my students to help them with homework at home. If we get an iPad for our classroom as promised I'll have to give this a try!
