Oh my goodness, it's been a while!  Thank you to those of you who sent me sweet messages (via the Facebook page) while I was away.  Long story short... I flew home for a bit to say a last goodbye to a family member, it was the last week of the semester (grad school) last week, the hubby and I had a little weekend in Paris, and we're starting to get all of our stuff together for our move home this Summer (paperwork, house hunting, etc.)... sort of a nightmare.

Bottom line:  I missed you.   I know a lot f you are in a similar state of crazy right now.  It's May.  Holy guacamole.  When did that happen?

I do have some posts lined up for this week, but I wanted to let you know about another fun TPT sale that starts tomorrow!  Details:

Happy shopping, friends!  Again, thanks for all the sweet notes and feedback y'all always leave me.  I truly appreciate it.

Yay!  Spring is here!  Well, kind of.  The trees are desperately trying to pop out some buds over here.  No green yet.  :(  My blog buddy, Krista, had the wonderful idea of having a little sale to kick of Spring and clean out those wishlists.  I know mine is a little packed right now.

Also, I'm [this close] to hitting 3,000 followers on TPT!  Woohoo!  I never dreamed that I'd amass more than 10, counting myself.  I'm so thankful for all of you!   You have been so incredibly supportive throughout the last year.  I never dreamed that I would get into selling my clipart in addition to classroom stuff.  I have to pinch myself sometimes.  Funny how things pan out.

I'll be clearing out my wishlist, so I though I'd give you the opportunity to do a little cleaning as well!  Sale details and links are below.  Have fun!

I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin' to show you the great deals I scored during the sale!

Remember I teach three different levels of EFL, so I have a completely random mix of stuff I had on my list.  Let me tell ya.  If I still taught kindergarten, the hubby would not be happy with me.  I've got about 800 things on my wishlist that I had to talk myself out of buying.  :(
Here are the goods I was able to get during the sale.  A crazy random mix, but I have a class of beginners, one intermediate, and an advanced (high school age) class.  I'm so excited to start printing these off and using them!  :)  Sorry for the tiny photos.  I copied the URL's from TPT and they come out fuzzy.  You can click the links to check them out yourself!

I have been designing my own graphics on and off now for a couple of years.  I've only used them in my personal stuff and never even thought about sharing/selling them until recently.  I kept getting emails from people asking where I found them.  I sat on it and thought about it for a while... "Gee, do I really even want to get into this?"  I'm very particular and like a certain look... if you can't tell.  I love all of the cutesy things, but I go for more of a 'clean and simple' type graphic.  I blame it on my self-diagnosed-OCD  There are only a handful of clipart shops that I like to buy from.  That should demonstrate my picky-clipart-personality.  So, with the encouragement of a couple of great blogger friends, I have decided to venture out into the wild wilderness of clipart land.

I've really only done school related items and have no desire to start creating unicorns, ballet dancers, and pirates.  There are already a lot of great designers out there who do that.  Plus mine wouldn't hold a candle to their creations.  :)  I've decided I'm sticking to school stuff.  Does that makes sense?  I mean, the blog name says it all right?  School supply addict?  So, it will be anything related to classroom materials or content.  I will gladly take requests if you've been looking for a particular set.  I'm already working on the 3 branches of government.  Every single set (but not all freebies) will include blacklines of each image.  This is perfect for printables.  I know I can't stand when I have to settle for a grayscale image.  Boo.

The first round of graphics that I've been able to put together are, in fact, school supplies.  I posted 5 sets today and have at least another 5 that are close to being ready.  Here are some thumbnails below.  You can check out the new 'Graphic Collections' page to see larger versions, review the terms of use, and navigate to these on TPT.
These graphics are for both personal and commercial use, but there are some standard restrictions and requirements in my terms of use.  Be sure to check it out first before buying or downloading.  Currently, I'm only offering my graphics through TPT.  Are you a member?  Yes?  Awesome.  No?  Why not?!  It's free, you don't have to sell anything, and you can download lots of cool things... for free too!  You like free don't you?  Click here to sign up.

Here's a fun freebie for being such great followers and fans!  It's just a 4 color sample of some of the different graphics.   :)  Enjoy!  This set reminds me of Deanna's new room... holy smokes.  Did you see it yet?  Ahhhhh-mazing.  It's like a Lakeshore magazine.  Beautiful.

Get the Free Graphic Set!

You like how I connected that L and H in the logo?  I thought so.  Hahaha.  I was overly excited when I realized they lined up like that.  I'm a huge nerd.

If you haven't already heard, there is a huge back to school sale on TPT soon.  I've already got my wishlist started so I can just click 'purchase' when the time comes.  There are a ton of awesome teachers participating and giving anywhere between 10 to 20% off their entire store.  I'm doing 20% off of everything!  You can also get an extra discount if you use the code (see below).
Recognize some of those graphics?  Hahaha...  If you're participating in the sale, feel free to use my image above to help promote it!  :)

I hope everyone has a blessed and relaxing weekend!

I'm done!!!  Woohoo!  This thing has seriously taken up a lot of my time, but I'm so pumped to use it this year.. from the beginning and not the last two months!  I gave you a little sneak peek, but here's a preview of what's included in this 600 page pack of Fry word resources...
Yes, there are exactly 600 pages.  No.  I didn't plan that.  It just happened that way.  All the files are smaller PDF's that are nicely organized and zipped up into one compact place.

First, you get this bad boy.... to the right.

It's titled 'Open Me First' so you know how to begin.  There are a lot of pages, so I would suggest not going the 'let's just print everything off first' approach.  You might need some things on colored paper and there will be some files you'll want to save for later.  Teaching K?  Might want to hold off on printing set 40.

I do use all 40 sets because I expect my students to be able to master them, but remember I have 3 levels of ESL/EFL students.

Basically, you start with this file and plan your attack.  All of these files are versatile and can be adapted to a wide range of students and classes.  There's not just one way to do it, so use these how you want.  :)

Now for a look at what's included in this beast...
Picture
Set Cards
All 1000 words broken down into 40 manageable sets of 25.  These are the set cards.  Each set has 25 cards, title cards, and each card has a number in the bottom corner to indicate which set it belongs to.  I copied all of my sets onto colored paper to organize them and make it more fun!  See photos.

Keep your cards in one of these when not in use.  I also did a colorful word wall, so copy them onto colored paper if you want a fun look!
These are the word wall cards... 3x5 index card size!  That's what size I always had on my word wall and I loved it.  Big enough to see and small enough to store in those little index card files.  Font size is 200, unless the word needed to be scaled down to fit.
These are the little checklists (4 per page) and you can use them for anything... assessment, copying, students can use them, etc.  Also shown are the circle titles.  Use these for a display or as little badges when a student masters a set.

I've included 5 different types of lists.  I use the one in the foreground for assessments (kept in a binder with page protectors).  The others can be used for assessments as well or you can use them to make copies for students to practice or take home.
4 different types of assessment sheets.  Choose the ones that work best for your setup!

Student achievement charts.  Do you expect your students to master all of the sets or maybe not so many?  These little charts are fun to use and students color in the circle when they've mastered a set.  It's a great visual to keep in their binder, on the wall, or at home.
These are the same as the ones to the left, but you actually have little colored squares to hand out (like stickers or badges) when they master a set.
I also included certificates and badges for the younger ones!

So... that's it.  I bought a Fry pack a while ago and was sad that it only came with the first hundred words.  And what do crazy people do when they can't find what they want?   Spend hours on making something.  Right?

Let me know what you all think.  If there are enough people who want the Dolch version, I'm sure I could adapt it.  I'm just so glad I'm finally finished and can use it from day one (or two) now!

It's posted on TPT and will be on sale (20% off) through Sunday, July 22nd!

I'm a little under the weather today.  A few of my kids came to class last week with horrible colds... now I have it.  I've been laid up in bed all day.  Luckily, my two 'dogtors' have kept me company.  I'm just praying it clears up by this weekend.  We have a full day wine tour on Saturday with some friends... so. excited.  I've become a major wine-o since moving here.

The TPT sale was (still is for a few more hours) a huge hit!  I'm joining up with Erica's Linky Party to share what I got!  I'm so excited about all of the great products I purchased (and the ones I sold too).  I'm trying not to go crazy at this point because I teach EFL and not kindergarten anymore.  I have to stay away from all of the cute and amazing materials for K-2!  However, I did succumb to Abby's Kentucky Derby Mini Unit.  I'm a born and raised KY girl.  Also, my husband and I met at the University of Kentucky... so, I basically HAD to get it!  Is the Derby over?  Yes.  Will I teach it to my Swiss, French, German, Russian, Dutch, Spanish, and Bosnian students?  Absolutely not.  I'm holding on to it in hopes that one day I'll be able to whip it out.  Here is a rundown of what I just HAD to have:

Calendar Companion

Picture
I've been eyeing this for a while.  It's Cara's 'Calendar  Companion.'  I could have definitely used this bad boy when I taught kindergarten, but now I think I'll be able to work it into my EFL classes starting next year.  See her post to learn more.  It's such a great idea!

Comprehension Activities

I also had to have Lindsey's pack of reading comprehension sheets & activities.  Since I teach multiple levels, these are perfect and easy to adapt!  Yay!

KY Derby Unit

This is the Derby Unit that I didn't necessarily need, but I LOVE it.  Abby did such an amazing job.  Even if you don't teach about the Derby, you can still use it for a little horse unit.

Gumball Machine

I am so totally excited about this.  I got Amy's gumball craftivity and I have so many things I can use it for!  Behavior, vocabulary, blends/digraphs, math, and on, and on, and on.  This is so cool!  Thanks so much Amy!

Numeroff Author Study

Picture
Europe + Laura Numeroff = ?   Has anyone over here heard of any of the Laura Numeroff books?  At least none of my students have.  Anyway, I introduced them to the mouse/cookie one and they went C.r.a.z.y... with a capital C.  I decided to snatch up Erica's author study to use more of the books!  Thanks Erica!  Check out her post to see photos of it in action!

I'm writing this post while the hubby goes and picks up a couple of pizzas for us.  I'm sick and absolutely not stepping foot into the kitchen.  Unless it's for hot tea or a tranquilizer gun.  Last time we ordered pizza in Geneva, we wound up paying $40 for an 'American small' size pepperoni and a tiny bottle of diet coke... and delivery.  With gas hovering around $8/gallon, we should have known.  No more deliveries for us.  This time it should be about $30 for two small ones (Dominoes).  What a deal huh?

Have a great week everyone!

P.S.  If you've been browsing through some of the pages on this site, sorry if they look odd.  I adjusted the width of the site and it messed a lot of text/picture alignments up.  I'm making my way through and fixing them.  :)

I'm sure you've heard about the ginormous TPT sale already.  Head on over to check out some amazing items from some awesome teacher-authors.  Everything in my store is 20% off.  Also, if you use the code: TAD12, then TPT will give you an extra 10% off.  Yay!!!
I've also posted all of the various templates I've used for writing.  I've got several more that are in landscape format that I have to publish, but check them out if you need some!  Click the picture below to head to the writing page.
